Transformer Types

As the power system has major 3 parts, Transformers are also can be divided into 3 parts-

• Transformer- used in Generation side.
• Transformer- used for distribution
• Instrumental Transformer- used for metering or protection relaying.

Distribution Transformers are used normally 100KV to 500KV. For consumer end distribution, bellow 250KV Tx is used because if there is any damage, that will make small portion out of order.
